Last Updated: 19 February 2026

Welcome to The UK Tech Butler (www.TheTechButler.uk). These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of IT support, tech repair, and related services provided by The UK Tech Butler ("we", "us", "our") to you, the client ("you", "your", "Customer").

By requesting or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Provided

The UK Tech Butler offers various tech support services, including but not limited to hardware repair, software troubleshooting, virus removal, network setup, and data recovery. Services may be provided on-site at your location, remotely via secure software, or at our premises.

2. Customer Responsibilities & Data Backup

2.1. Data Backup: You acknowledge that tech repair carries an inherent risk of data loss. It is your sole responsibility to ensure all data, files, and software are fully backed up before handing over your device or allowing us remote access. The UK Tech Butler cannot be held responsible or liable for any lost, corrupted, or altered data. 2.2. Access and Passwords: You agree to provide full access to the devices requiring service and to supply any passwords or credentials necessary to complete the repair or diagnostic work. We treat all passwords confidentially. 2.3. Legitimate Software: You confirm that you hold legitimate licenses for any software you request us to install or troubleshoot.

3. Pricing, Estimates, and Payment

3.1. Estimates: We may provide an estimate of the costs before beginning work. While we strive for accuracy, an estimate is not a guaranteed final price. If additional parts or labour are required, we will contact you for authorization before proceeding. 3.2. Diagnostic Fees: We reserve the right to charge a diagnostic or call-out fee, even if you choose not to proceed with the recommended repair or if the device is deemed unrepairable. 3.3. Payment Terms: Payment is due upon completion of the service and receipt of the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers and cash. 3.4. Late Payments: We reserve the right to charge statutory interest on late payments for commercial clients under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Devices left with us will not be returned until full payment is received.

4. Warranties and Guarantees

4.1. Hardware: Any new physical parts or hardware supplied by The UK Tech Butler are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. 4.2. Labour: We provide a 14 day warranty on our labour. If the exact same fault reoccurs within this period due to our workmanship, we will rectify it free of charge. 4.3. Exclusions: Our labour warranty does not cover: faults caused by subsequent physical damage, liquid spills, new viruses/malware contracted after our service, or user error.

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1. Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. 5.2. Subject to clause 5.1, under no circumstances will The UK Tech Butler be liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, for any indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, or business interruption. 5.3. Our total liability to you for any direct losses arising in connection with the services provided shall be limited to the total amount paid by you for the specific service out of which the claim arose.

6. Abandoned Devices

If you leave a device with us for repair and fail to collect it or arrange delivery within 30 days of us notifying you that the repair is complete (or unrepairable), we reserve the right to safely recycle, sell, or dispose of the device to recover our costs.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

We process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We respect your privacy and will not browse your personal files or data unless strictly necessary to perform the requested repair (e.g., data recovery).

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
